My name is Ewa Jozefkowicz (my parents come from Poland, hence the unpronounceable surname).
My love of children’s fiction began when I spent many a half term in the bookshop which my dad managed, huddled up in the kids section devouring book after book (whilst being super careful not to bend the spine).
I raced through my favourite Roald Dahls, with a record number of re-readings of Esio Trot; Jacqueline Wilson had pride of place on my own bookcase at home, and I read Astrid Lindgren in both English and Polish to minimise what could have been missed in translation.
It’s fair to say that I’ve given adult books a fair go (I am in my late twenties after all), but I’ve yet to find one that has moved me quite as much as a children’s story.
This blog contains my recommendations of some cracking reads, both old and new, and may even include a few chapters that I’ve written myself. Any feedback is much appreciated.
